Heritage Speakers Processing of the Spanish subjunctive during online comprehension
This study investigates how individuals who speak Spanish as a first or second language understand the subjunctive as they listen to contextualized sentences and their eye movements are recorded.
First language is English, second language is Spanish. Started learning Spanish after age 6. Very high proficiency in Spanish (at least level 400). Born and raised in the U.S. No history of neurological disorders or language disorders.
Exclusion Criteria:
Only speaks English. Started learning English and Spanish at the same time. Was born in a Spanish-speaking country. Low or intermediate proficiency in Spanish. History of neurological disorders or language disorders.
