PA CURE Phase 1: Biomarkers of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
The study seeks to identify the characteristics of brain function after traumatic brain injury (TBI). The data obtained through this study aims to help physicians better understand the characteristics of specific products released into the blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) following a TBI, called biomarkers. In addition, we will store blood and CSF samples for later testing as new information becomes available.
The long-term goal of this study is to provide physicians with the tools they need to diagnose brain injuries. This information may help doctors judge how severe a head injury is, if treatment needs to be
adjusted, and it may help predict how well a patient recovers from the injury.
