Multimodal MR imaging of the midbrain for early Parkinson’s progression
This longitudinal MRI study aims to assess two novel MRI markers for early Parkinson's disease progression. Early stage Parkinson's patients, as well as healthy volunteers of similar ages, are eligible to be enrolled into the study.
Participants are asked to complete a screening, baseline and 12-month visit. During the baseline and 12-month visit, they are asked to complete some questionnaires as well as a motor evaluation, smell test and MRI. Participants also may choose to complete additional study components that may ultimately guide the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease. These optional components include a fasting blood draw and collection of skin punch biopsies.
