Tolerization Reduces Intolerance to Pegloticase and Prolongs the Urate Lowering Effect (TRIPLE)
This study is for people who have chronic gout and their signs and symptoms of gout are not well controlled by their current medications.
This study has two arms of treatment: one is using an approved medication for treatment of gout and the other uses the same approved medication in conjunction with an oral medication (immunosuppressant drug) which is commonly used to prevent rejection from kidney transplant and to treat patients with signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. The use of the immunosuppressant drug in this study is considered experimental.
This research is being done to see whether a new dosing regimen of the approved medication helps to improve gout symptoms and reduces side effects due to the infusions.
